44. The Government considered, on the contrary, that this provision
required avocats, who were "officers of the court" (auxiliaires de la justice), EZELIN v. FRANCE JUDGMENT 18
to respect a number of professional principles of a legal and ethical nature.
The provision was sufficiently precise where, as in the instant case, the
conduct being punished was contrary to the rules of the profession.
