It is common ground that the prohibition in issue constituted an interference with the applicant’s right to freedom of peaceful assembly which was prescribed by law, namely by section 6 of the Assembly Act, and served legitimate aims recognised in Article 11 § 2 of the Convention, namely the “prevention of disorder” and “the protection of the rights and freedoms of others”.
