### Friendly Settlements and Unilateral Declarations
#General Principles
In cases where the parties reach a friendly settlement, the applicants agree to waive any further claims against the respondent state in exchange for agreed amounts (

The amounts agreed upon in friendly settlements are converted into the respondent state's currency at the rate applicable on the date of payment and are payable within three months from the date of notification of the Court’s decision. Failure to pay within this period results in simple interest being added, calculated at the marginal lending rate of the European Central Bank plus three percentage points (
